  • Gateway Baby Jags Basketball

This past weekend was an exciting time for the Gateway Jags' basketball teams. On Friday, the boy's team played a hard fought game against Carr Lane at Vashon High School. It was an excellent atmosphere and a great experience for the team. After getting out to a nice lead in the first half, Carr Lane pulled away in the second half to claim victory. The boys might have a chance to avenge the loss in the playoffs in a few weeks!

The girls lost to Carr Lane two weeks ago for the first time in two years. Again, the girls got out to a lead, but it unfortunately slipped away from them in the second half. This past Saturday the girls played the Busch Bobcats at Cleveland High School. The Bobcats went up early and were leading at halftime, but in the second half Gateway was able to obtain the lead and never let it go. 8th grader Alexius Palmer scored 20 points in the second half!

The boys were able to bounce back from their Carr Lane loss in a hurry. Almost just 12 hours after losing to Carr Lane the boys were back on the court for their game against Busch. Gateway was able to let out some steam on the Bobcats winning by almost 40 points against an over matched opponent.

This coming weekend Gateway will be playing against Langston Middle at Gateway High School.

    Game times:

    Girls- 1:00pm

    Boys- 2:00pm

If you ever need to find out where and when the games are please check our school website. The schedule is posted on the school website.
