Principal's Corner

  • Welcome to the Carver Elementary Principal's Corner

    Anna Westlund

Ms. Westlund grew up in Bettendorf, Iowa. After going to college in Chicago and spending some wonderful time teaching music in the Middle East, she taught Spanish in Prince George's County, completed her master's in International Education and later became a literacy coach and an AVID coordinator. Ms. Westlund moved to St. Louis to help kick off Carver Elementary and has been here since! She spends a lot of time outside, loves rollerblading, and plays piano and guitar. She has a new niece and nephew and loves to brag about them. :)

Ms. Westlund loves reading and has recently enjoyed these books: The Beautiful Struggle (Coates), And the Mountains Echoed (Hossein), and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs (Scieszka).

    Dear Families,

Saint Louis Public Schools was recently notified that one of our vendor companies, Schoolzilla PBC, experienced an information security incident earlier this month that affected many of their customers, including our district. Schoolzilla immediately fixed the issue and informed us. We have no reason to believe that the incident will impact students or their information, and you do not need to take any action.

The information included basic student information but did NOT include social security numbers (SSNs). In keeping with FERPA guidelines, the District does not maintain student SSNs.

We want to assure you that we are taking this incident very seriously and have put measures in place to limit the type of data shared with such vendors in the future.

If you have further questions, contact Colette Owens, Director of Academic Strategy and Special Projects at SLPS: or 314-345-4570, visit or reach out directly to the Schoolzilla team at

    Dr. Kelvin R. Adams
